Speaking on behalf of the clergy and laity, respectively, The Rt. Rev. Dr. Robert Thompson, Suffragan Bishop of Kingston and the Hon. Michael Fennell, Chairman of the Diocesan Financial Board, commended Justice Wolfe on his contribution to the Diocese.
“He has been a friend and a mentor to me; and he has been exemplary. He is a committed Christian with a love for the church and a passion for justice; and this has impacted his work,” Bishop Thompson said.
“You are a hard act to follow,” Mr. Fennell stated as he commented on the outspoken and fearless manner in which the former Chancellor ensured that the Diocese complied with the legal provisions in the Canons of the Church.
In his response, Mr. Justice Wolfe referred to his life-long relationship with the Anglican Church, dating back to his boyhood as a member of the Cathedral Church of St. Jago de la Vega, SpanishTown, where he still worships. “The Church is responsible for everything that I have achieved. It’s been a tremendous experience being Chancellor,” he said.
