A seven-member delegation led by Bishop of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, The Rt. Rev. Howard Gregory, is among Anglican clergy and laity from Latin America and the Caribbean now meeting in Cartagena, Colombia to discuss Partnerships for Leadership and Financial Capacity.
The meeting, which begins today (October 25) and continues to October 30, is being hosted by Trinity Wall Street, an Episcopal Church in Manhattan, USA, which has been forging partnerships around the world to strengthen the bonds among Anglicans and improve their ability to carry out their mission.
Subject areas to be discussed include: Living Our Core Values; Leadership Development and Forming Leaders; Preparing for Financial Capacity; Celebrating Neighbourhood, Community and Partnership.
Other clergy from this Diocese who are attending the meeting are Suffragan Bishops, Robert Thompson and Leon Golding; The Rev. Canon Garth Minott, Deputy Principal and Warden of Anglican students at The United Theological College of the West Indies; and The Rev. Sean Major-Campbell, Rural Dean, Kingston. Lay members in the local delegation are Diocesan Secretary, Mrs. Jacqueline Mighty, and Dr. Eleanor Henry, Project Management Consultant and Member, St. Jude’s Church, Stony Hill, who is also one of the Facilitators at the meeting.
This is the third regional meeting organised by Trinity Wall Street, which is also offering
grant funding to promote leadership development and financial sustainability. Previous
meetings were held in Panama in 2016, and in Montego Bay in late 2017. Recent upgrades to
the Diocese’s social media platforms and the installation of digital communication
infrastructure were facilitated through this initiative.
