In the wake of Hurricane Matthew which killed just under 1,000 persons in Haiti on October 4, left hundreds of thousands homeless and facing the threat of disease, the Diocese has launched a Relief Fund to assist survivors.
In a special appeal to clergy and church workers, The Rt. Rev. Howard Gregory, Bishop of Jamaica and The Cayman Islands, requested donations from congregations island-wide “to assist our brothers and sisters in this impoverished nation.”
Contributions should be sent to Church House by November 30; and cheques should be made payable to: Diocesan Church Fund – Haiti Appeal, to facilitate timely payment to the Bishop of Haiti.
Bishop Gregory also requested prayers for the people of Haiti, Cuba, The Bahamas and other countries which were devastated by the storm.
