Mrs. Judith Spencer-Jarrett was installed by Bishop Howard Gregory as President of the Mothers’ Union (MU) at the organisation’s Annual General Meeting held at Wolmer’s Boys’ School, Kingston, on February 25.
A foundation MU member at Holy Trinity Church, Old Harbour, Mrs. Spencer-Jarrett previously served on the Executive and as Secretary and Treasurer of the local Branch before taking office as Kingston Region President in 2013. In 2017, she became Public Relations Officer for the Provincial Mothers’ Union.
She, along with Mrs. Esther Gooden, who were recently certified as Parenting Trainers, were officially commissioned by Bishop Gregory at the AGM.
In his Message, the Bishop noted that, as the most active and powerful organisation in the Diocese, the MU had a unique role to play; and he challenged members to take the lead in the pursuit of Intentional Discipleship.
